MADISON, Wis. – June 2, 2014 – Propeller Health, the FDA-cleared digital health solution for chronic respiratory disease, today announced CEO David Van Sickle, PhD, will be a featured panelist at Health Datapalooza V, taking place June 2-3 at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.
Van Sickle will discuss using data to improve patient experience through products and services like Propeller, which help people better understand their disease and share that new insight with their healthcare provider.
Health Datapalooza is a national conference focused on liberating health data, and bringing together the companies, startups, academics, government agencies and individuals with the newest and most innovative and effective uses of health data to improve patient outcomes.
The presentation marks the fourth time Van Sickle will take the Health Datapalooza stage. The panel, “Connecting the Quantified Self with the Healthcare System,” takes place on Tuesday, June 3 at 3:00 p.m. in Session Room Washington 4. Moderated by Deneen Vojta, MD, SVP Business Initiatives & Clinical Affairs, UnitedHealth Group, the panel also features Euan Thompson, PhD, operating partner, Khosla Ventures and CEO of AliveCor, and Eran Bashan, PhD, co-founder and CEO, Hygieia, Inc.
New products and services – from fitness trackers to advanced home diagnostics to genetic testing – are making it easier for people to gather information about their health, as well as share this information with providers and other health care stakeholders. In this session, participants will learn about the future of consumer engagement and how emerging, new sources and types of health data are being used to improve wellness and to manage disease more effectively.
“More than any other event, Datapalooza collects the curious and crafty stalwarts from government, academia and industry, and sets them to work on a shared vision of data-driven improvements to health and healthcare in the US,” said David Van Sickle, CEO of Propeller Health.
